Sze, Amabelle

Third Grade Teacher

amabelle sze

The daughter of Chinese immigrants, Amabelle was born in Madison and moved to Chicago in second grade. All five of the Sze children played musical instruments, and Amabelle was particularly captivated by classical music. She received her B.F.A. from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and was headed for a career as a professional musician until she realized that she was drawn to the challenges and delights of working with kids. Amabelle joined the SFFS team after serving as an assistant teacher in the third grade at Cathedral School for Boys and in the second and fourth grades at Stuart Hall for Boys. Beyond her consuming interest in curriculum development, Amabelle plays the viola and piano, scales boulders, loves auto racing video games, and bakes an “awesome” batch of cupcakes! Amabelle and partner, Matt, are proud parents of Maddie, born in 2009.
