Andrew Salverda joined the SFFS team in 2008 with more than fifteen years of middle school teaching, coaching, and administrative experience. For eleven years, he worked at the Nueva School in many roles: teaching humanities, serving as interim middle school head, coordinating the Innovation Lab (in partnership with Stanford University’s Institute of Design), managing the advising program, co-founding the Nueva Drama Conservatory, and leading trips into the wilderness and to the Ashland Shakespeare Festival. Andrew graduated from Allegheny College and earned a Master’s degree in Literature from The Bread Loaf School at Middlebury College. Andrew and his partner, Sarah, live in San Francisco and are parents of twin three-year-olds, Bram and Lucia, and a baby daughter, Cora. Before he became a parent, Andrew enjoyed photography, woodworking, and fly-fishing, which he looks forward to enjoying with his kids some day.
