Gwen, who has worked for 18 years as an educator, came to SFFS in 2008. She was a founding middle school teacher at Prospect Sierra School, where she served as a humanities teacher, curriculum coordinator, advisor, schedule designer, CAIS accreditation co-chair, and interim middle school head. Before that, she taught at Albany High School and Convent of the Sacred Heart Elementary School. Gwen completed her undergraduate degree at Yale, her teaching credential at San Francisco State University, and her Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning at Harvard. Gwen enjoys hiking, camping, and birdwatching. On a recent trip to Texas, she identified more than 100 species of birds. When at home, Gwen spends time with her partner, Jess, and their backyard chickens in Oakland.
