Ashley was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan, where she majored in Spanish. Studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain, inspired a love of the language and culture, and led to her pursuit of a Master’s through Middlebury’s program in Madrid. After graduation, Ashley moved to the beautiful city of Valencia, where she taught middle and high school English at an international school for five years. Back in the United States for two years, she has found a home in the Mission neighborhood and in our Friends School community. Ashley still enjoys traveling, especially to Philadelphia to visit family. In 2011, she returned to Nicaragua with the seventh grade trip.
