Corrine Nagata joins the SFFS faculty with an extraordinary range of experience as a dance teacher. For eighteen years, she has been a dancer, teacher and choreographer with the Alvin Ailey American School of Dance, National Dance Institute, and the Dance Theater of Harlem. Corinne has taught all forms of dance to a wide range of students in master classes at Stanford University and Mills College and beginner’s classes at The Children’s Dance Institute or Public School 241 in Harlem. In addition to dance classes, Corinne has prepared students to participate in parades ranging from ‘Carnaval’ to the Chinese New Year’s Parade. Recently, one of Ms. Nagata’s dance classes placed first in the Chinese New Year’s Parade winning the “Best Marching School” trophy. Currently Corinne is on faculty at LINES Ballet and her dance program, NAGATA Dance, serves nearly a dozen San Francisco private and public schools.
