Ilsa has taught grades K through 3rd in both public and private schools during her seventeen years as an educator. Ilsa holds a BA in Applied Design and a Masters in Education. Ilsa has also worked on content for LeapPad, taught Latvian to children at the SF Latvian Church, and is a featured teacher in the book Teaching Children to Write: Constructing Meaning and Mastering Mechanics. Ilsa and her partner, Tony, live in San Francisco with their son, Evan. When she's not working, she enjoys creating art (painting, drawing and metalsmithing), snowboarding, and riding bikes on the SF Bay Trail with her family.
