Gwynne-Vaughan, Annie
Seventh and Eighth Grade Humanities Teacher

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Annie lost her southern accent by spending 14 years teaching middle and high school in Brooklyn, New York. Anniehas travelled to Madagascar, Vietnam, Cuba, and an NEH class on Civil Rights in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2006, Annie made a short film about personal narrative and American History with help from the Fund for Teachers. Annie holds degrees from Warren Wilson College and The New School for Social Research, and is working on a second Master’s from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. Currently, she is administering a federal grant that encourages collaborative problem-solving and restorative justice practices in schools. Annie and her partner, Lauren, live in San Francisco with their young son, Henry.
