Dickson, Frances
Developmental Support Coordinator, Learning Specialist (Grades K-4)

Frances joined the SFFS team as a consulting learning specialist in 2008, and moved into her current role as developmental support services coordinator and learning specialist in the following year. Previously, Frances worked at The Nueva School for six years as their reading specialist and at San Francisco Day School for thirteen years as a classroom teacher and learning specialist. Originally from Kentucky, she completed her M.A. in Learning and Instruction at USF and has since attended professional development workshops to keep up with the rapid developments in the understanding of learning. Her training in the early 1990s with using the Slingerland approach piqued her interest to become a learning specialist, and she has since taught for several summers in the Slingerland Summer School. She and her partner have two daughters in middle school.
