Brandelyn is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley, where she obtained a B.A. in English. Prior to working at SFFS, Brandelyn worked in education through BUILD, a nonprofit in Oakland, and Bret Harte Middle School. She is a professional writer, having published four books: “Everybody Plays the Fool”, a novel; “Spoken Silence: Life in Four Parts”, a volume of poetry; “U.G.L.Y.”, her latest novel; and “dreams are not concerned”, a volume of poetry. She is also a contributing author in the “Gumbo for the Soul Anthology”, a literary project that was created to raise funds to support literacy programs for high school students in the Bay Area, as well as the “When I was There…” UC Berkeley Anthology project. Brandelyn currently writes for Empress, Leather and Vapors magazine and is a frequent contributor to the Young Writers Block Literary community.
