Bonaparte, Yvette

Yvette came to San Francisco Friends School as part of its founding staff with experience as an office manager and conferencing coordinator at The WELL, an online discussion community. She studied classical violin at the Manhattan School of Music, graduated from State University of New York at Purchase and has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco. A published journalist and short story writer, Yvette has taught English at USF and Skyline College. She represented San Francisco Friends School at the 2003 National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference and served as co-clerk of the SFFS Diversity Committee in 2003 and 2004. Yvette served on the board of the Bay Area chapter of POCIS (People of Color in Independent Schools) in 2005-06. Yvette continues to serve on the school’s Diversity Committee and Quaker Life Committee. Yvette lives in San Francisco with her husband Mark, and has two sons, newborn Elijah, and Liam in seventh grade at SFFS.
