Andino, Luz
Spanish Teacher

Luz grew up in Argentina where she studied psychology in communication and received her degree in education from the College of Italian Culture in Buenos Aires. Over the next ten years, she taught elementary-aged students in an array of subjects including music and English literature. She moved to Mallorca, Spain, where she studied art at the Joan Miro Art Institute and where her daughter Clara was born. Luz has taught Spanish for the past eleven years to both adults and children at the Friends School, the French American High School, the Hamlin School, and Children’s Day School. Luz’s passion and concern for the environment led her to pursue her certification in permaculture design, and she recently completed an internship in Taos, New Mexico learning bio-construction. She enjoys working in her backyard, where her two chickens and 500,000 bees reside.
